Curated Giving That Builds Strong Communities

We’re a student-led nonprofit that brings school communities together through curated donation drives and free pop-up “shopping” events.

Do you or a family member attend one of our partner schools? Make your wish list!

Tell us what you need and we’ll work with our donors to source the items and get them to you.

Want to help our partner schools by donating items or volunteering your time?

Check out our donations page to see what supplies are needed and how you can get involved.

Personal and Purposeful Giving

Partner Schools Share What They Need

Students, families, and administrators from our partner schools fill out their wish lists and let us know what they need, from school supplies to sports gear.

Donors Schools Lend Their Support

Community members from donor schools help meet our partner schools’ needs by dropping off items at designated locations or by purchasing them directly through curated wish lists and gift cards.

We Host Free On-Campus Pop-Up Events

Our Prep Together team then sorts and organizes the donations and hosts fun, themed “shopping” events where families can pick out what they need—free of charge.

Get Involved

If you’re a principal, administrator, or educator at a private charter school serving under-resourced families in the D.C. area, we’d love to hear from you.

How It All Started

Prep Together was founded by Wagner Underwood, a high school student at the St. Albans School in Washington, D.C. Inspired by the belief that every student deserves access to the essentials they need to thrive, he—with the help of his Bulldog community—is partnering with students from other local schools to support under-resourced communities. What began as a simple idea has grown into a community-powered effort to make a real difference—one backpack, pencil, and pop-up event at a time.

Learn About Our Pop-Up Events

Every year, we host several themed donation pop-ups—free events where students and families can “shop” for items that match their specific needs and requests.
